Die forging - a modern hot forming process - is used for the manufacture of series-produced parts, especially in the automotive industry.

In close cooperation with die forgers, conventional tool steels have been further developed, while at the same time newly designed special grades have been successfully introduced.

The increasing demands being placed on the finishing of the forging dies, e.g. by high-speed milling, lead to more and more blanks being supplied in rough-machined and pre-heat-treated form.
